The City of Rockwall will participate in a project to develop an i-Phone
application for governments, and will work with a software company
to offer feedback and suggestions for the application.
Rockwall will work with the cities of Manor, Texas; Geneva, Colorado;
Arvada, Illinois; and Mecklenburg County, North Carolina on the
project
A link on the city’s website will be established to gain information from
residents on what they want to see in the application such as
agendas, notices, the ability to submit locations of potholes and other
information.
City officials have completed a survey from the IT perspective, and a
second survey must be completed related to responses and requests
from residents.
Survey answers are due by February 1, and the goal is to have the
application available by April, said Mary Smith, the city’s finance
director.
By participating in this project, she said, the City will be given the
application for free.
“It will also give us the opportunity to collaborate with the participating
cities and county,” Mrs. Smith explained.
